One of the best things about Singapore is undoubtedly the food. It is no secret that Singaporean's eat and drink with a passion. With a burgeoning expatriate community and a booming tourist industry, Singapore boasts a wide selection of places to eat and drink. There's Sushi Tei, for instance, (where you pick the sushi off a revolving track in front of you). The number of eating options is staggering, but a great place to start for crew is at Chijmes, featuring a wide range of restaurants and cafes.

‘CHIJMES’ (Entertainment oasis, very close to most crew hotels and in the heart of Singapore, near Raffles).

What2do4crew recommends the ‘La Cave Wine Bar’ for its friendly staff and excellent airline discounts, some nights its 50%.

This vibrant dining and entertainment area is very crew friendly (offering discounts on drinks/food and arranging seating areas when available). ‘CHIJMES’ – is situated in an old girl’s convent school compound. Here crew can enjoy an international selection of cuisines or dance the night away with the many fantastic live bands performing inside the variety of bars and clubs.

CHINATOWN FOOD STREET is the best place to savour the local food delights like satay, seafood, wan ton noodles etc. It is located at Smith Street. Also here you can stroll through the night market and grap some wonderful gifts to bring home for your family and friends.

NEWTON CIRCUS FOOD CENTRE (crew always used to go here, however with the layovers getting shorter we tend to go to places nearer).

This center is the most well known 'hawker' (open air area with tables and seating surrounded by many stalls serving cheap, tasty food) center in Singapore. If you are a seafood lover, do not miss this place, lots of BBQ seafood stalls can be found here. There are also many variety of food, including Hokkien Prawn Noodles, Fish Porridge, Chicken Rice and many more.

Location: Newton Circus, entrance at Cavenagh Road.
Getting There: Take the MRT to Newton Station (NS21).

CLARKE QUAY is Singapore's only riverside festival village combining dining, shopping and entertainment. This area has a spread of specialty restaurants, themed pubs and wine bars. Across the river lies a range of exciting dining experience at Riverside Point.
