Their are four official languages in Singapore - Mandarin, Tamil, Malay and English. The population is mainly a mixture of Malays, Chinese and Indians with a small selection of other ethnic nationalities.

Singapore consists of one main island, and 58 smaller ones. The terrain is flat lowland, the highest point being Bukit Tima Hills, standing at 164 meters. Singapore is very clean with hardly any litter on the streets, smoking in any public place is strictly prohibited.

Crew will find plenty of shopping and eating options available during your layover. When you have exhausted this you should take a trip to Sentosa Island - an amusement park like no other. Accessible by road and cable car, crew can spend a whole day exploring the museums, aquariums, beaches, bird and butterfly parks, walks, rides and food centers.

SENTOSA

Sentosa, which means tranquillity in Malay, is a popular island resort in Singapore. A major tourist attraction, it hosts a sheltered beach of more than two kilometres in length on its southern coast, a now defunct musical fountain which used the interaction of lasers against water particles to create three-dimensional images, and historical fortifications in Fort Siloso, dating from World War II.
