Singapore
Their are four official languages in Singapore - Mandarin, Tamil, Malay and English. The population is mainly a mixture of Malays, Chinese and Indians with a small selection of other ethnic nationalities.

Singapore consists of one main island, and 58 smaller ones. The terrain is flat lowland, the highest point being Bukit Tima Hills, standing at 164 meters. Singapore is very clean with hardly any litter on the streets, smoking in any public place is strictly prohibited.

Crew will find plenty of shopping and eating options available during your layover. When you have exhausted this you should take a trip to Sentosa Island - an amusement park like no other. Accessible by road and cable car, crew can spend a whole day exploring the museums, aquariums, beaches, bird and butterfly parks, walks, rides and food centers.

Want to try something different and in the mood for some animal spotting at night? Then book a trip to Singapore's 'Night Safari' which is the first of its kind in the world - a wildlife park specially built for night visits. Located at Singapore's zoo starting after 18:00.

Singapore is very crew friendly, offering discounts in many nightclubs and bars (list of these will be coming soon). Singapore is relativity safe place however always stay in groups at night and don't leave your drinks unattended or accept drinks you haven't seen being poured.

Crew Duty free allowances: Cigarettes / Tobacco - Nil: Wine 1 Litre. Or Beer - 3 cans (330 ml per can) & Spirit - 1/4 Litre. Also any chewing gum and tobacco products must be declared on arrival.

Airline crew will receive discounts ranging from 5% - 25% off certain items at the Duty Free.

Top places to visit while on your layovers.

SENTOSA

Sentosa, which means tranquillity in Malay, is a popular island resort in Singapore. A major tourist attraction, it hosts a sheltered beach of more than two kilometres in length on its southern coast, a now defunct musical fountain which used the interaction of lasers against water particles to create three-dimensional images, and historical fortifications in Fort Siloso, dating from World War II.

NIGHT SAFARI

The world's first wildlife park built for visits at night, the Night Safari is not like any ordinary zoo illuminated by the night or a modern version of nocturnal houses found in many zoos around the globe.
