Re: Singapore Club & Bar Reviews - General Discussion
Singapore has a great varity of nightspots, full of bars and night clubs.
HARRYS BAR
You can't walk down Boat Quay without noticing Harry's Bar, Singapore's best-known jazz joint. Harry's is a popular haunt of expatriates, all enjoying live Jazz into the early hours.
Very cose to the Hotel at the Boat Quay and Clarke Quay.
‘CHIJMES’ (Entertainment oasis, very close to the crew hotel and in the heart of Singapore, near Raffles).
What2do4crew recommends the ‘La Cave Wine Bar’ for its friendly staff and excellent airline discounts, some nights its 50%.
This vibrant dining and entertainment area is very crew friendly (offering discounts on drinks/food and arranging seating areas when available). ‘CHIJMES’ – is situated in an old girl’s convent school compound. Here crew can enjoy an international selection of cuisines or dance the night away with the many fantastic live bands performing inside the variety of bars and clubs.
VENOM
Boasts a state-of-the-art dance floor and a sweeping view of Orchard Road. The theme changes every night, and the music ranges from pop to retro to house. The crowd -- well-heeled and chic.
Pacific Plaza Penthouse, 9 Scotts Road, 7347677
SPARKS
This huge entertainment complex houses a dance floor where retro music booms loud and clear, as well as many karaoke rooms. If you've never tried karaoke, there's no better time to do so. The rooms are bookable by the hour, and sound-proof.
391, Orchard Road, Ngee Ann City Shopping Centre, 7356133
ZOUK
This hugely popular club, which has been compared with some of the best in Europe, plays mainly House music to a mostly young crowd. Wednesday is Mambo Jambo night, when the club shakes off its techno garb and plays a mix of 70s to 90s pop. Also in the same complex is VELVET UNDERGROUND, where the crowd is slightly older and the music is mainly Soul and Garage. It's quite small with lots of seating ares, however the dancefloor is big enough for those who want to wiggle their hips.
